Dolly Parton Postpones More Appearances, Citing Health Challenges

Country music icon Dolly Parton has announced that she will be postponing several upcoming appearances due to ongoing health concerns.

The 79-year-old singer shared via social media that her doctors have recommended a few medical procedures, and she needs time to recover and properly prepare for future engagements.

Among the affected events is her planned Las Vegas concert residency at The Colosseum, Caesars Palace, originally set for December 2025. Those dates have been shifted to September 2026, to allow her the time she needs to heal and return in full strength.

In her message to fans, Parton said:

“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts … I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. … I want to be at my best for you.”

She added humorously that maybe it’s time for her “100,000-mile checkup” — but clarified that it’s not cosmetic surgery.

Ticket holders for the December shows can keep their tickets and attend on the new dates in September 2026, or opt for refunds as needed.

Although she has postponed these appearances, Parton reassured fans she is not stepping away from her work entirely. She will continue other projects from her base in Nashville while recovering, and she emphasized that she believes now is a time to slow down — not to quit — as she looks ahead to “more big adventures” with her audience.

Parton also recently missed an appearance at her Dollywood theme park due to complications from a kidney stone that turned into an infection.

The announcement comes at a sensitive time — earlier this year, she lost her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean.

Despite everything, Dolly remains grateful and hopeful, telling fans she looks forward to returning when the time is right.
